 AFC 2023 adalah edisi ke-41 Piala Asia U-20 AFC (termasuk edisi sebelumnya dari Kejuaraan Pemuda AFC dan Kejuaraan AFC U-19), kejuaraan sepak bola remaja internasional dua tahunan yang diselenggarakan oleh Konfederasi Sepak Bola Asia ( AFC) untuk tim nasional U-20 putra Asia. Jika Indonesia berhasil mencapai semifinal, play-in repechage akan dilakukan antara 4 perempat finalis yang kalah, pemenangnya akan lolos ke Piala Dunia FIFA U-20.

 Tim Nasional (Timnas) Indonesia U-20 membuka peluang lolos ke perempat final Piala Asia U-20 2023 usai mengalahkan Suriah U-20 1-0 pada laga kedua penyisihan Grup A. Pelatih Shin Tae-yong membakar semangat Garuda Nusantara agar tampil lebih berani.

Gol kemenangan Indonesia dicetak Hokky Caraka pada menit ke-34' di Locomotive Stadium, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Sabtu (4/3/2023) malam WIB. Hasil ini menempatkan skuad Garuda Nusantara di peringkat 3 klasemen sementara Grup A dengan 3 poin.
